Bobby founded ChopAir in 2020 to help better serve an existing market and influence positive change in the construction industry.
Bobby began his engineering career in commercial HVAC manufacturer with Ruskin – a Johnson Controls Inc. company located in Grandview, MO. He developed a genuine passion for the commercial HVAC industry at Ruskin. Bobby transitioned to a commercial HVAC manufacturer’s representative firm in Southeast Florida where he managed Big Ass Fans regional sales with Tom Barrow Xpress Products. Bobby graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a BS in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in business and mathematics.
As an accomplished Inside Sales & Program Manager in the HVAC industry, I bring over 10 years of experience in inside sales, application engineering, and project management. Working with ChopAir, I specialize in delivering tailored solutions that optimize operations and drive customer satisfaction.
With extensive knowledge of HVAC equipment and building automation, I perform precise estimations that align with project requirements and customer needs. My keen aptitude for automating workflows and enhancing efficiency allows me to streamline processes and create measurable improvements for clients and internal teams alike.
Paired with strong customer service skills and a results-driven approach, I am passionate about building long-term partnerships and contributing to the success of every project I undertake.
David joins the team in Houston, TX with 25 plus years in residential and commercial construction. He is accomplished in building relationships at all levels within the customer organization.
Also having the entrepreneurial spirit, David had his own Custom Home and Remodeling business over the last decade. He brings a wealth of knowledge to ChopAir and looks forward to growing the business in the South Texas region. His knowledge and skill set will help meet your business needs. He enjoys cycling, traveling and co-runs a dog rescue with his wife.
With over 20 years of experience in the HVAC industry, strong background in the mechanical rep / engineering sector, Shelby James brings years of trustworthy knowledge, expertise, and dedication to his customers from his experience at companies like Stan Weaver & Company & Thermal Tech, Inc. He attended Queens University of Charlotte, where he studied business and played division II level basketball which led him to the opportunity of a career rooted in reliability, problem-solving, and client-focused solutions.
Beyond his professional life, Shelby is a devoted faith driven father and family man who values time spent with his children and loved ones. When he’s not working, you can find him in a gymnasium throughout Central Florida, enjoying his passion of supporting his four children, their teams, and his life-long love for the game of basketball.

Jeff took over ChopAir’s accounting role in early 2023. He likes to say he is an accountant by trade, but entrepreneur by calling. Jeff got his Master’s in Accounting from Mizzou and then got his CPA while starting at KPMG. Throughout his career, he’s been fortunate to work with Fortune 500 companies and local, small businesses alike.
Jeff is the oldest of six children raised here in Kansas City. He spends a lot of time with his family, especially his wife and two boys. He’s also a great golfer and avid Mizzou fan!

Rachael started as a fractional CTO for ChopAir in 2023. She received her Industrial Engineering degree and MBA from the University of Missouri. Then, she pursued a career at Black & Veatch and Smart Warehousing. Her professional focus revolves around the seamless integration of technology throughout the customer journey. She has a tremendous ability to analyze business processes and automate them.
